Hoopin’
For Jesus

Several years ago, Raleigh Christian started a project that we now call “Hoopin’ For Jesus”.

One of our members works for an agriculture supply company

and would sell these domed hoops to farmers but once they were sold, there wasn’t always a convenient way for the farmers get these hoops installed.

The Idea

Dan Neeley, a trustee at Raleigh Christian Church and salesman with Matney Agriculture Supply, came up with a brilliant idea. Since most of the work of getting a hoop attached to it’s structure was physical, why not get the men, and sometimes women, of the church involved putting these hoops on structures.

Donation Opportunity

This way the money made from attaching the hoop could be donated to either the church, the community club or be used for special needs, like a donation to a Christian church in Mayfield, Kentucky after the recent tornado destruction.

Fellowship

This also allowed for the men and women of the church and community, to gather and fellowship as Christians.

The church is involved in about 8-12 hoops a year, donating thousands of dollars to the church and community. The work is typically done on Saturday mornings and usually takes about 4 hours per hoop.

Anyone interested in purchasing and/or having one of these hoops installed or those who’d like to fellowship with other Christians helping put one of these hoops up, should contact Dan Neeley at 765-561-0143 or you can reach out to us at raleighchristian@raleighchristianchurch.org
